Graphic 45 Design Team 2014 Audition
With nervous and fluttering heart, I am making this post for my Graphic45 Design Team 2014 Audition! :) I know there are other talented ladies who are also trying out and I'm kind of way too amateurish compared to them. But as they say, there's no harm in trying :) And only the thoughts of what ifs and should haves will be my companion in the end if I don't put myself out there and actually try.
I've been a fan of Graphic45 for sometime now. It's pretty difficult to get hold of scrapbook stuff where I am (Saudi Arabia), I have to order everything online. I am really so happy when the "nearest" (aka Dubai-based) scrapbook store I know of finally got Graphic45 stuff.
When I saw the Graphic45 design team call, I really wanted to give it a go. So I want to share some of my favorite projects (some not so new but I believe show my crafting style) and here it goes...
Thank you Graphic45 for giving me the chance to try out in your design team call!
Whew! That's it for now... crossing all my fingers!!!
God bless everyone and happy crafting to all!

"Thanks 2013, Hello 2014"
My first layout for this year that I really enjoyed creating. I am loving mixed media at the moment and mixing products from different manufactures and make them work together.
"Wonderful Day"
I used some distress stains on the background and in some of the handmade embellishments in this page. I didn't use any textured paste, gesso or other mediums here because I wanted to focus on the papers.
"Such a great day to be with friends"
I love experimenting creating handmade flowers from papers and creating dimension and textures just by changing the angle or folding a portion of a paper.
"Wonderful Memories"
I created the background of this Valentine layout with shimmery oil pastels (since I don't have gelatos). I used my fingers to brush/spread the pink and gold oil pastels in an upward/downward motion. I cut the middle portion of gold doilies into different sized hearts. Inked the edges of the paper strips and accented/embellished the page with small flowers, enamel dots, and some letter stickers and a cute little wood ampersand for the title.
"Glittery-shabby-lovely altered Christmas tree"
I used lots of paper scraps in this little project I did and served as out little Christmas tree last year. I stacked different sizes of doilies and papers painted with a mixture of acrylic, watercolor and shimmerz. I topped the tree with a glittered star and long, ribbon-ed-gold thread circled the entire tree. I fuzzy cut the little house in one of the patterned papers I used. After everything dried, I sprayed acrylic varnish to this little tree ~ in a box, outside our room.. have to always remember that!!! ^_^ ~
"She believed"
One of my favorite projects to date. I altered a small canvas frame with lots of texture on the background using stencils and stamps and chipboards. I handmade some of the small flowers tucked all over the canvas. I also used gauze sprayed with glimmer mists and diluted watercolors.
"Altered shabby box"
This is originally a candle box, so when you open this it really the smell if heavenly. I decided to keep the box and altered it into a bit of shabby and vintage style. I combined lots of things I love in this project, inked edges, layers, and the combination of pink, teal and gold colors.
"Bellezas en papel"
I had so much creating the dresses for these two dolls. I made these for a contest last year. I used recycled papers and a mix of hybrid and real flowers for both paper dresses.
some detail shots of the dolls.
"Friends"
I bought this wood frame few years back and I kept on delaying in altering it because I wanted to use it for a special project. The Secret Garden collection is perfect for this friendship souvenir. I used photos of me and my other three friends and created a garden of friendship theme. I only used the 6x6 patterns and solid as well as the chipboard and cardstock diecuts. Again, I made most of my flowers for this one. I adhered papers on the surface first before applying textured paste and brushing gold liquid acrylic paints and watercolors.
